DRUM CIRCLE

COMMUNITY DRUM CIRCLE

In collaboration with ELREM Foundation CIC and the Heathrow Community Trust, I am able to use my skills and experience to run a community drum circle specifically for the Deaf and Disabled community.

No experience needed, just bring enthusiasm and a willingness to 'feel the beat'.

We have 4 sessions in June and July with 6 remaining sessions in September, culminating in a celebration of Black History Month in October.

Fully accessible, drums and percussions provided. Come and join the fun, book your place here.

UPCOMING FESTIVALS & EVENTS

Come and join me at the FlareWave Festival in Brighton Pavilion on 30th September for a beautiful Drumming Workshop. Learn how to drum, participate in the fun and make some new friends while learning new skills!

Audiovisability is a charitable organisation that brings the highest quality of music and musical opportunity to deaf people through teaching and outreach projects. We work with deaf role models, using sign language and visual resources to ensure full access to music. Miriam is leading the drum workshop, celebrating her British-Jamaican roots at the FlareWave Festival in Brighton.

Book your FREE ticket now.

I will also be performing at a DeafRave Festival on 21st October. Please see the social media post opposite and follow DeafRave for further details about the event.

EXPERIENCE

CYCLING & WALKING PROJECT

In association with ELREM Foundation CIC and the Walking and Cycling Grant (WCGL) from TFL and the London Mayor's office, we were able to carry out 4 fantastic cycling sessions in Stratford, East London.

We used Wicked Bikes at Hackney Bridge and as you can see many people turned out and enjoyed the cycling tune up and ride sessions.Teaching safety, how to use gears with myself and Shirla as instructors.

Keep your eyes peeled for the walking sessions this summer. The project allows us to really promote activity, inclusion and community. By running cycling and walking sessions for the Deaf and Disabled community we are encouraging people to get out and be active this summer. Enjoy your surroundings and reduce isolation by joining these accessible group projects.

Check out the EventBrite page for future projects and sign-ups.

CYCLE YOUR WAY TO HAPPINESS

Cycling is beautiful, the instructors taught me things to improve my confidence, building up my skills. Now I know how to indicate, left and right, how to observe my surroundings.

Now I feel much better, I am able to ride in streets, parks and deal with crossroads/junctions. It’s been fantastic and the instructors have been great. I can’t thank them enough!
